Jennifer: Welcome to 3-Minute Czech Season 1, Lesson 10 - Asking How Much Something Costs. In this lesson, you’ll learn how to ask how much something costs in Czech.

Jennifer: Here's the way to ask 'How much does it cost?' in Czech.
Martin: [Normal] Kolik to stojí?
Jennifer: First is a word meaning 'how much '
Martin: [Normal] kolik [Slow] kolik
Jennifer: Next is the word meaning 'it'
Martin: [Normal] to [Slow] to
Jennifer: Last is the word meaning 'costs'
Martin: [Normal] stojí [Slow] stojí
Jennifer: Note the rising intonation. Listen again to the question meaning 'How much does it cost?'
Martin: [Slow] Kolik to stojí? [Normal] Kolik to stojí?
Jennifer: Now, imagine you're speaking to a stranger. Here's the way to ask, 'How much does this cost?'
