Jennifer: Welcome to 3-Minute Czech Season 1, Lesson 20 - Talking about Your Likes. In this lesson, you’ll learn how to ask and affirmatively answer this question in Czech.

Jennifer: Here's the informal way to ask 'Do you like chocolate? (speaking to a woman)' in Czech.
Martin: [Normal] Máš ráda čokoládu?
Jennifer: First is a word meaning 'do you '
Martin: [Normal] máš [Slow] máš
Jennifer: Next is the word meaning 'like'
Martin: [Normal] ráda [Slow] ráda
Jennifer: Last is the word meaning 'chocolate'
Martin: [Normal] čokoládu [Slow] čokoládu
Jennifer: Note the rising intonation. Listen again to the informal question meaning 'Do you like chocolate? (speaking to a woman)'
Martin: [Slow] Máš ráda čokoládu? [Normal] Máš ráda čokoládu?
Jennifer: Now, imagine you're speaking to a stranger. Here's the formal way to ask, 'Do you like sweets? (speaking to a man)'
