good question. It is simply because in the vocabulary list it is in the 1st case form. Usually whenever you would see it in a sentence it would read "čtvrtého července". 😉

Thanks, this is a great list! I didn't know many of the words, but I especially like ohňostroj (fireworks), vlajka (flag), and průvod (parade).
