INTRODUCTION
In this lesson we're going to take a trip to the post office. The post office in Czech is Pošta.

GRAMMAR POINT
In this lesson, we're going to work on getting your postcards, letters, and packages home.
For most cases, you’ll say ‘I want to send this to [somewhere]’. Let’s say you have an item to send to France. You would say “I want to send this to France" In Czech, this is..
Chci poslat tohle do Francie.
Let’s break it down:
(slow) Chci pos-lat to-hle do Fran-ci-e.
Once more:
Chci poslat tohle do Francie.
The first word, chci, means something like “I want”
(slow) Chci.
Chci.
Next we have poslat, meaning “to send”.
(slow) Pos-lat.
Poslat.
Then we have tohle, which means “this”.
(slow) Toh-le.
Tohle.
Next we have do which literally means “in” but it can be translated as “to”.
(slow) Do.
Do.
And at the end, we have the name of the country, in our case Francie meaning “France” in Czech.
(slow) Fran-ci-e.
Francie.
All together, we have
(slow) Chci pos-lat toh-le do Fran-ci-e.
Chci poslat tohle do Francie.
This literally means “I want to send this to France.”
Let's look at the other examples.
When you want to specify what you’re going to send, you can replace the word Tohle meaning “this” with the item’s name.
“Postcard” in Czech is pohled.
(slow) Po-hled.

By using the word, you can say...
“I want to send this postcard to France” in Czech, which is
Chci poslat tenhle pohled do Francie.
Let’s break it down:
(slow) Chci pos-lat ten-hle po-hled do Fran-ci-e.
Once more:
Chci poslat tenhle pohled do Francie.
Tenhle pohled means "this postcard."
(slow) Ten-hle po-hled.
Tenhle pohled.
Now let’s make a phrase using “letter”. In Czech, this is dopis.
(slow) Do-pis.
Dopis.
So “This letter” in Czech is:
(slow) Ten-hle do-pis.
Tenhle dopis.
If you want to say “I want to send this letter to France” , in Czech, you can say..
Chci poslat tenhle dopis do Francie.
(slow) Chci pos-lat ten-hle do-pis do Fran-ci-e.
Let’s hear the whole phrase one more time:
Chci poslat tenhle dopis do Francie.
Now let’s try to send a package. In Czech, “I want to send this package to France” is:
Chci poslat tenhle balík do Francie.
(slow) Chci pos-lat ten-hle ba-lík do Fran-ci-e.
“Package” in Czech is balík.

So “this package” will be tenhle balík
